
Gladys Smith
Gladys Smith is a licensed psychotherapist and trauma specialist. She has devoted herself to working with trauma, sexual violence and addiction with clients and in the community. She served 27 years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman tending to the physical and mental health of military men and women and their families locally and abroad in various countries. Gladys is trained in multiple somatic based and trauma based psychotherapies including Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness and Trauma Focused yoga. She received her YTT in 2013, and has been teaching since then. She is also a Certified Trauma Professional and Compassion Fatigue Facilitator. She volunteers in the community with several organizations, to include teaching yoga at the Veterans Administration on a weekly basis. Gladys is an Alive & Well Ambassador, teaches Emotional Emancipation, Trauma Awareness courses, and Trauma focused Yoga/Mindfulness classes & workshops in the community. Gladys earned a Doctorate in psychology PsyD, a Master of Education, Master of Health Science and Bachelors in Health Care Management.
